Nicky Ward will spend the rest of the season on loan at Brighton.
The Australian midfielder joined Rangers from Perth Glory last summer in a deal trumpeted by the club as the signing of a major prospect.
But Ward has found it hard adjusting to English football and is out of favour with manager John Gregory.
