Match report of this afternoon's home defeat in the clash against Ipswich Town

Debutant Darren Currie came off the bench to help Ipswich to an incredible turnaround and inflict a first home defeat since August on QPR.

Currie – nephew of legendary midfielder Tony Currie - created Ipswich's second and scored the third after the Tractor Boys had gone in 2-1 down at half time.

The £250,000 acquisition from Brighton was brought on in the 54th minute to spice up the visitor's attack and his impact was almost immediate.

But before Currie's introduction Ipswich looked to have lost their way.

Jason De Vos' header was cancelled out in spectacular fashion by Paul Furlong in the 27th minute when he unleashed a 30-yard effort which visiting keeper Kelvin Davis didn't see coming.

Three minutes later the former Chelsea striker repeated the feat, this time from 25 yards to put QPR ahead.

But Ipswich came out firing after the break and received just rewards for their efforts when Currie's cross found Darren Bent who headed in the equaliser.

Then in the 72nd minute Currie got himself on the scoresheet with a shot that took a slight deflection off Marcus Bignot.

Kevin Gallen blew two chances in the first half and one in the second before Shefki Kuqi sealed the game with 13 minutes to go when he poked in Matt Richards' cross.

Ipswich could have been four goals to the good after just 17 minutes but for the heroics of QPR keeper Chris Day.

Five minutes into the match he denied Ian Westlake then tipped over Tommy Miller's effort.

He was also on hand to keep Jim Magilton at bay before he dived to palm away a Bent header.
